Jerry (Palo Alto, Calif.), an insurance broker and provider of compare-and-buy insurance shopping services, has partnered with Lyft (San Francisco) to give the rideshare company’s drivers direct access to insurance quotes from over 50 auto insurance carriers. Drivers can access quotes within 45 seconds, allowing them to buy personal auto insurance in minutes and minimize insurance costs, according to a statement from Jerry. The company says it saves its car insurance customers an average of more than $800 per year.

“More than 70 percent of Americans are overpaying for car insurance,” comments Alex Chew, Senior Director and Head of Business Development Partnerships, Jerry. “Lyft drivers are on the road to make money, not lose it. Now, with Jerry, Lyft drivers have instant access to competitive rates in seconds and the ability to switch carriers in minutes.”

Jerry characterizes the partnership as catching up with a major trend: as increasing numbers of Americans participate in the gig economy, there is growing demand for making it easy to (re)shop for auto insurance.

Licensed in All 50 States

As a licensed insurance broker in all 50 states, and with partnerships with more than 50 insurance carriers, Jerry describes itself as equipped to serve Lyft’s network of drivers across the U.S. Jerry reports that its customers rate the app a 4.7 in the App Store and praise the ease of use, speed of completing the transaction, automated customer flow (no phone calls unless desired), and savings.

Jerry’s partnership with Lyft is immediately available to drivers in Illinois and Pennsylvania through the App Store and Google Play.
