Boston Mutual Life Insurance Company (Canton, Mass.) has expanded availability of BML Connect, its cloud-based digital enrollment and self-service policy administration platform.
The platform is now available in 49 states, excluding New York and Puerto Rico, for new business meeting certain criteria, according to a Boston Mutual Life statement. BML Connect supports select workplace products, including whole life, accident, critical illness and simplified group voluntary term life.
Boston Mutual Life says the platform is designed to make it faster and easier for brokers, employers and policyholders to do business with the company. BML Connect provides secure online tools for enrollment, billing, commissions, case management and policyholder service in an integrated system.
The company says brokers can use BML Connect to access commission statements and tracking. The platform also supports application-level enroller payments and an unlimited number of enrollers.
For employer benefits administrators, BML Connect is intended to simplify enrollment and reduce billing administration, including through no-fee electronic funds transfer options. Policyholders whose coverage is on the platform can use a self-service portal for service needs, document access and premium payments.
“BML Connect reflects our ongoing commitment to putting customers first by providing expanded access to affordable solutions with the business opportunities on the platform,” comments Grant Ward, President and CEO, Boston Mutual Life Insurance Company. “Our customers and broker partners want simple tools that help them manage business and coverage. By pairing modern digital capabilities with the dedicated support of our teams, we’re strengthening the experience we provide to all our customers.”
Boston Mutual Life developed BML Connect with Majesco (Morristown, N.J.) as part of a multiyear modernization initiative. The platform was first introduced through a limited pilot in 2025 and will continue to expand with additional products and features.
Translating Strategy into a Better Digital Experience
“Boston Mutual Life’s expansion of BML Connect shows what real modernization should deliver: a simpler, more connected experience for brokers, employers, and policyholders,” comments Adam Elster, CEO, Majesco. “They are setting the pace with a thoughtful approach to innovation, translating strategy into a better digital experience and stronger business outcomes.”
Boston Mutual Life says existing business will continue to be serviced through legacy systems as future features are developed. Additional enrollments on existing cases will also be added and serviced through legacy systems.
Boston Mutual Life is a mutual insurer that provides insurance solutions for working Americans, including municipality and public sector employees, first responders, teachers, union members and small businesses.
