Bestow (Dallas), a provider of solutions to the life insurance industry, has announced the addition of three new hires with the aim of driving its next growth phase. The new appointments are intended to reinforce Bestow’s ability to unlock digital transformation and growth across the life insurance industry, according to a statement from the company.

David Malenoir-Evans, Chief Product Officer, Bestow.

In 2024, Bestow sold its life insurance carrier to Sammons Financial and transitioned away from being a direct-to-consumer insurance company. No longer an insurance carrier, Bestow now works with prominent life insurance carriers, including Sammons Financial Group, to build enterprise-grade, end-to-end solutions that streamline the policy lifecycle for their customers. The company’s focus is on developing products that simplify complexities, unlock growth, and enhance profitability, and these hires will advance our focus on product innovation, according to a Bestow statement.

“Bestow is the next generation software platform transforming leading insurance carriers across life and annuities,” comments Jonathan Abelmann, co-founder and President, Bestow. “In the last year, our partners achieved remarkable outcomes leading to gains in market share and profitability. We’re really excited about upcoming launches in 2025.”

Doug Brewster, VP, Finance, Bestow.

The appointments are as follows, as described by Bestow:

David Malenoir-Evans has joined Bestow as its Chief Product Officer, responsible for product strategy and execution. He has experience scaling products and platforms across AI, SaaS, and fintech while holding senior roles at MetaMap, Procore, and Dataminr. At Bestow, Malenoir-Evans will focus on enhancing the company’s integrated technology platform, designed to modernize the life insurance industry by replacing outdated, fragmented systems.

Pete Schiller, VP, TPA Services, Bestow.

Doug Brewster joins Bestow as Vice President of Finance, where he will oversee financial strategy and operations. Before joining Bestow, Brewster was a key leader on the finance teams at Tecton, Confluent, and Okta. Brewster brings a wealth of experience scaling best-in-class SaaS companies across growth and IPO stages.

Pete Schiller is the Vice President of TPA Services, driving the next generation of insurance operations and administration capabilities for numerous Tier-1 life insurance carriers. With an extensive background in sales, QA, and customer service performance, Pete is well-positioned to deliver operational excellence to carriers, agents, and policyholders. Under Pete’s leadership, the team is focused on improving automation and self-service to drive a more efficient user experience that exceeds industry norms.

Jonathan Abelmann, Co-Founder and President, Bestow.

“David, Doug, and Pete are not just skilled leaders; they are builders who align closely with Bestow’s culture and team,” said Jonathan Abelmann, President and co-founder of Bestow. “They have started laying the groundwork for ongoing innovation as we expedite product launches. I am confident their leadership will help Bestow and our carrier partners transform the insurance industry.”

Bestow describes its solutions as empowering insurers to achieve growth and profitability at unparalleled speed. Whether launching innovative life and annuity products, expanding distribution channels, or delivering a seamless customer experience, Bestow says it eliminates the inefficiencies of outdated legacy systems. By enhancing carriers’ financial, actuarial, and distribution capabilities, the company sees its mission as redefining what’s possible in life insurance and driving the industry forward.
