BarmeniaGothaer Asset Management AG (Frankfurt) has implemented a front-to-back investment platform integrating Bloomberg’s (New York) buy-side solutions with Clearwater Analytics (Boise, Idaho) for middle- and back-office operations, completing a transformation of its investment infrastructure.
The initiative follows the 2024 merger of Barmenia and Gothaer and is designed to unify previously separate technology and data environments. The platform supports a single workflow across public and private assets and is intended to improve transparency, risk oversight and investment decision-making.
“With Bloomberg’s buy-side solutions and the cloud-native Clearwater Analytics platform, we are combining the capabilities of two providers,” says Gerrit Heine, CEO, BarmeniaGothaer Asset Management AG. “Together, they reduce complexity in our investment workflows, enhance transparency and automation and create a future-proof investment solution without compromising on efficiency improvements, growth, and the use of advanced technologies such as cloud and artificial intelligence.”
The platform integrates portfolio management, trading, accounting, reconciliation, regulatory reporting and risk analysis into a single architecture. It provides a consolidated view across asset classes, enabling consistent analysis of performance, allocations and risk across the investment lifecycle.
Unified Front-to-Back Architecture
“The priority of BarmeniaGothaer Asset Management AG was to reduce complexity and build an investment platform that could scale with the business,” says Josef Sommeregger, Head of Insurance, EMEA, Clearwater Analytics. “By combining Bloomberg’s comprehensive investment solutions with Clearwater Analytics’ accounting, middle-, and back-office platform, BarmeniaGothaer Asset Management AG now operates on a unified front-to-back architecture.”
BarmeniaGothaer Asset Management AG manages more than 50 billion euros in assets and oversees investments for one of Germany’s largest mutual insurers. The organization incorporates environmental, social and governance criteria into its investment processes and participates in international sustainability initiatives.
