Axis Names Edmond Wu Head of Distribution, Specialty, North America

In this newly created role, Wu’s focus will be supporting and growing our existing U.S., Canada, and Bermuda strategic partnerships.

AXIS Capital Holdings Limited (Pembroke, Bermuda) today announced that Edmond Wu has joined the Company as Head of Distribution – Specialty Markets, North America. In this newly created role, Wu’s focus will be supporting and growing our existing U.S., Canada, and Bermuda strategic partnerships. Based in New York, he reports to Ed Ashby, Global Head of Distribution.

“As we pursue our ambition at AXIS of achieving specialty leadership, a top priority is to even further deepen and grow our retail broker relationships in the U.S., Canada, and Bermuda markets,” comments Ashby. “Ed, a seasoned distribution leader with a proven track record, will play a critical role in advancing this strategic imperative and he is charged with leading and building a team that will operate out of North America.”

Wu brings extensive specialist knowledge and experience that includes executive positions with both brokers and carriers. Most recently, he was Head of Global Specialty Sales and Distribution at The Hartford. Previously, he held senior distribution roles at Navigators and Zurich, served as East Coast Finpro Placement Leader at Marsh, and held underwriting roles with AIG and Aetna.
