AXA XL (Stamford, Conn.) has created a dedicated prevention business unit, which the company says will expand its risk consulting capabilities and prevention services for commercial clients.
The unit will be led by Libby Benet, currently Global Chief Underwriting Officer, AXA XL. The company says the new organization becomes AXA XL’s fifth business unit, alongside Americas, APAC & Europe, UK & Lloyd’s, and Reinsurance.
AXA XL says the prevention business unit will combine data, analytics and technology with the company’s risk engineering and advisory expertise. The unit will focus on helping businesses address risks including climate, supply chain disruption, cyber threats and operational resilience.
“Prevention must be at the heart of how we support our clients,” comments Scott Gunter, CEO, AXA XL. “That is why we are making services a core part of our offering. The launch of this business unit marks an important step. By expanding our services capabilities, we are strengthening how we support our clients and positioning AXA XL for the future.”
Gunter says Benet’s underwriting expertise, global perspective and client focus will help shape and scale the business.
“Our clients are looking for more than risk transfer—they want partners who can help them anticipate, prevent and mitigate risk,” Benet comments. “This business unit allows us to build on what we already do well, deepen our engagement with clients, and better integrate prevention and risk insights into how we serve them globally.”
AXA XL says the launch reflects the growing importance of prevention as businesses face more complex and interconnected risks.
