Capital Insurance Group (CIG, Monterrey, Calif.) has joined the Auto-Owners Insurance group of companies as the result of an agreement, signed in February, to be acquired by the Lansing, Mich. based insurer. After receiving all regulatory approvals, the closing documents were signed this week, a CIG statement says.
CIG is a regional property/casualty insurer that has been serving Western states since 1898. Working exclusively with independent agents, CIG provides a range of coverage for commercial, personal, and agricultural lines in California, Washington, Oregon, Nevada, and Arizona. In addition to providing comprehensive product offerings, CIG boasts extensive local expertise, superior claims service, and technology capabilities.
“For over 120 years, our dedicated and hardworking teams have worked side-by-side, protecting and restoring countless businesses and communities in the West,” comments Arne Chatterton, President and CEO, CIG. “As we turn this chapter, I couldn’t be more pleased about the future. With the support and financial backing of Auto-Owners, we are poised for mutually profitable growth for the next 120 years to come.”
