Atlas General Insurance Services (San Diego) has selected FirstBest’s (Bedford, Mass.) Front Office Suite to modernize collaboration with agents and brokers through what the vendor describes as a powerful, easy-to-use agent portal and a best-in-class underwriting workstation.
Atlas will initially implement a workers’ compensation program with FirstBest UMS (Underwriting Management System), FirstBest Agent and FirstBest AppReader, integrating the FirstBest capabilities with its existing policy administration for straight-through processing. The vendor says that FIrstBest UMS will enrich the Atlas underwriting process from submission through issuance, including post-issuance transactions for both new business and renewals.
Highly Configurable Underwriting Workstation
Atlas selected the FirstBest Front Office Suite because of its quality as highly configurable underwriting workstation solution with state-of-the-art system architecture, according to Ryan Clarkson, Atlas’ chief operating officer. “It will allow our organization to facilitate critical workflow transformations through the implementation of a modern, proficient underwriting process in a matter of months,” Clarkson comments. “The scope and flexibility of the FirstBest underwriting solution will help Atlas better manage our risk appetite and risk assessment practices. We can quickly launch straight-through processing for our agents to significantly improve time-to-market and achieve profitable growth.” According to a FirstBest statement, to support key strategic initiatives, Atlas will leverage FirstBest UMS to:
- Streamline submission intake and agent collaboration
- Implement underwriting best practices for consistency and efficiency
- Insulate underwriters from legacy platform redundancies
- Atlas will utilize the intuitive interface of FirstBest Agent to support
- Consolidated data entry and agent-quoting capabilities at the point of service
- Strong collaboration with underwriters
- Enhanced book-of-business reporting capabilities
FirstBest AppReader will also improve productivity and workflow speed between agents and Atlas underwriters with electronic prefill of ACORD forms during the submission process, according to the vendor statement.
