Atain Insurance Companies, a Farmington Hills, Michigan-based holding company of surplus lines carriers and a member of the H.W. Kaufman Financial Group, has selected Oceanwide’s (Montreal) Bridge Insurance Software Suite and Insurity’s (Hartford) Claims Decisions to support its commercial package, commercial property, and commercial general liability lines of business. Atain will be using Bridge’s portal, policy administration, rating, billing, document generation, and reporting modules.
Atain selected the Oceanwide and Insurity products following what a vendor statement calls an extensive search to replace a legacy system that was not meeting its functionality or technology needs. A key criterion for Atain was that Bridge could be used for carriers, MGAs and brokers, giving the company the opportunity to use the solutin to address multiple functions across the enterprise.
“We were impressed with the Oceanwide team and the Bridge and Claims Decisions solutions,” comments Michael Paulin, VP and Managing Director, IT, H.W. Kaufman Financial Group, “As a part of H.W. Kaufman Financial Group, it was important that we selected a system that not only met Atain’s requirements but was also flexible and could be configured to improve the user experience across the many companies within our group.”

“We are proud to be working with such a respected insurer and support their continued growth,” comments Mitchell Wasserman, CEO, Oceanwide. “We look forward to a long relationship with Atain.”
“Atain is excited about partnering with one of the leading IT companies in the insurance space,” remarks Wayne A. Bates, President, Atain Insurance Companies. “This investment is a key part of our strategy to continually improve the experience and efficiencies for our broker and agent partners.”
