Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield’s Hoosier Healthwise, Healthy Indiana Plan and Hoosier Care Connect plans in Indiana are offering new members a $10 reward to take a health risk assessment at a Pursuant Health kiosk at any Wal-Mart store in the state and share information toward enrolling in Anthem health management programs to improve their health.

Eligible members can take their Anthem Rewards card to the kiosk at their nearest Wal-Mart store pharmacy, Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield reports. They activate the card by scanning it at the kiosk and earn a $10 reward loaded to the Anthem Rewards card as long as they take the health survey within 90 days of their enrollment. The card can be used in that store and applied to most merchandise. Existing Anthem Medicaid members can take the health survey online or on the telephone.

Anthem describes its Rewards program as designed to reward Anthem Medicaid members for participating in healthy activities, such as having an annual preventive care visit with their primary care provider or participating in a tobacco cessation program. The insurer notifies participating members additional reward opportunities, and upon completion of an eligible activity, the incentive will be loaded to the member’s Anthem Rewards card.

Incenting Members to Focus on their Health

“More and more consumers are accessing health information in non-traditional settings that offer convenience and time savings,” comments Kristen Metzger, president of Anthem’s Indiana Medicaid plans. “The health survey takes just a few minutes and enables us to better serve our members, especially those who might benefit from Anthem programs that help manage pregnancy, diabetes, high blood pressure and other health conditions. The Anthem Rewards card is one way we are simplifying health care so that our members can focus on their health.”
