The implementation will enable the insurer to shorten process times on auto-adjudication of medical bills, reduce duplicate processes and take clerical tasks off claims adjuster’s desks.

Amerisure Mutual Insurance Company (Farmington Hills, Mich.) has completed its project to implement Guidewire (Foster City, Calif.) ClaimCenter as its new claims management system. Capgemini (Paris), a global consulting firm and Premier Consulting alliance member of Guidewire’s PartnerConnect vendor partner program, led the implementation.

With the Guidewire ClaimCenter selection, announced in Nov. 2013, Amerisure sought to update its internally built claims system to more easily keep up with technology upgrades and regulatory compliance. Amerisure met its stated project goal of deploying ClaimCenter to all of Amerisure’s lines of business (Commercial and Workers’ Compensation) in all of its core service centers across the United States.

“Given the age of our previous claims system, our business and IT departments recognized the need for an upgrade,” said Laura Pierman, VP, Claim Operations and Shared Services, Amerisure. “With ClaimCenter, we will be able to offer our staff new capabilities to help them more efficiently and effectively deliver on the service commitments to our Partners for Success agencies from a business and technology perspective.”

Guidewire reports that ClaimCenter is enabling Amerisure to:

  • Obtain better visibility into claims handling operations;
  • Collect more measurable data points; and
  • Enhance staff training.

“We are honored that Amerisure entrusted Capgemini with implementing one of the most complex ClaimCenter accelerators that Guidewire has released to date,” comments Shane Cassidy, Senior VP, Insurance, Capgemini. “This cutting-edge implementation will enable Amerisure to shorten process times on auto-adjudication of medical bills, reduce duplicate processes and take clerical tasks off claims adjuster’s desks along with other integrations to help Amerisure pay the ultimate probable cost of each claim.”
