Admiral (Cardiff, Wales, U.K.) has selected Nuvalaw (Liverpool) and its joint venture partner Trust Arbitration (London) to provide Alternative Dispute Resolution for personal injury claims in its auto insurance business, using Nuvalaw’s Legal Tech platform and Trust Arbitration’s leading arbitrators.

Siân Davies, Head of Bodily Injury, Third Party Damage and Recovery Claims, Admiral.

Admiral’s decision follows a successful pilot with claimant law firms and Admiral, who are now taking the opportunity to expedite resolution of some personal injury (PI) claims, according to a Nuvalaw statement. The vendor notes that unresolved claims on both the Ministry of Justice (MoJ) Claims Portal and the Official Injury Claim portal represent a clear issue for insurers, claimant lawyers, and claimants, with the average court waiting period increasing from 40 weeks to 62 weeks due to Covid-19.

Nuvalaw says its recently launched Legal Tech platform and Trust Arbitration’s specialist Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) service provide a solution for these and other disputed PI claims. The cloud-based platform handles all aspects online through to final settlement and can reduce claims resolution times down from 400+ days via the courts to only a few days on the platform, the vendor asserts.

Willie Pienaar, CEO, Nuvalaw.

“Nuvalaw and Trust Arbitration clearly understood our needs and delivered a high-quality platform and service that is both easy-to-use at scale and cost-effective,” comments Siân Davies, Head of Bodily Injury, Third Party Damage and Recovery Claims, Admiral. “Further, Trust Arbitration offers us the appropriate level of arbitrators so you can trust in the outcomes being given.”

The Nuvalaw statement asserts that the solution is a game-changer for insurers, saying that claimants who in the past would have had to wait many months to be paid will now have to wait only a few days, while saving insurers between 30 to 50 percent of costs.

Proven Technology and Arbitration Service

“We’re confident that Admiral’s decision to work with us signals a firm step in the right direction for the broader industry, which now has the opportunity to make a fresh start and to realise improved business outcomes with our proven technology and arbitration service,” comments Willie Pienaar, CEO, Nuvalaw.

Tim Wallis, Director, Trust Arbitration.

Nuvalaw describes its platform as working seamlessly with the MoJ’s Claims Portal and Official Injury Claim portal, demonstrating that quality-assured ADR can deliver justice quickly with binding settlements, leaving courts free to focus on more complex issues.

“Trust Arbitration and Nuvalaw are delighted to work with innovative, forward-looking organisations like Admiral to improve the customer experience and provide independent, high-quality, and efficient outcomes for both receiving and paying parties,” says Tim Wallis, Director, Trust Arbitration.
