Speaking at the ACORD/LOMA Systems Forum in Orlando, Fla., this morning, ACORD CEO Greg Maciag announced that this year’s event will be the last. ACORD’s new signature event, ACORD2015, will launch in fall of the coming year at the Boca Raton Resort and Club in Florida from Nov. 2-4, 2015. The ACORD LOMA Systems Forum debuted in 2004.

ACORD2015 will build on the foundation of ACORD’s current fall meeting, the ACORD Implementation Forum (AIF). Since launching in 2008, AIF has grown steadily in attendance, scope and depth of subject matter, according to an ACORD statement. ACORD2015 will blend key elements of AIF and other ACORD events into a new program that features in-depth ACORD Standards training paired with related business and technology topics focused on the theme of change, the statement says.

“We want our events to help people stay on the leading edge of innovation,” Maciag commented. “ACORD and its standards have kept pace with the evolution of the insurance industry since 1970, and that’s enabled us to develop a unique perspective on the ways that business and technology connect. ACORD2015 will allow us to share that perspective in an engaging way and continue that evolution.”

ACORD 2015 will also represent a departure in the approach to an industry event, according to the organization. ACORD2015 will include sessions designed to promote interaction, it will focus on younger professionals and present a “reimagined” Innovation Center for exhibitors and sponsors to showcase their products, according to ACORD.

“ACORD2015  will draw from the best of what ACORD events have to offer,” commented Malou August, the organization’s director of event programs. “We’re putting an emphasis on networking and connecting people to information and solutions they can apply in the real world. It’s all about new ideas to help you work smarter and more effectively.”
