Udi Makov is a professor of statistics at the University of Haifa, where he serves as the chairman of the Actuarial Research Center and director of the Actuarial Science MA Program. His current research focuses on predictive modelling and risk measures. As Lead Actuary in Setoo, a London-based, startup personalized insurance and protection-as-a-service company, Makov is responsible for promoting actuarial research in the context of insurance prediction and pricing, and for introducing aspects of advanced statistics into algorithmic development.
